Gansbaai Prayer Flags

A prayer flag is a colorful panel of rectangular cloth, often found strung along mountain ridges and peak high in the Himalayas. They are used to the surrounding countryside and for other purposes.

on this particular hill stands a solitary tree when viewed from the bay. there is no path leading to the top which makes for an interesting walk. apart from two large troops of baboons and massive amounts of loose rocks i managed to get to the top without incident. the views were magnificent well worth the effort.

Faces

we meet people every day. we are influenced by those that cross our path in some way or the  other. some leave nothing behind, others enrich more with a fleeting glance than others do in a lifetime. i love that. i love the odd glance or a peek. that something that puts the bounce back into your stride. that look that lasts a second too long. we are all exposed to that daily, take note, make eye contact and if they do not mind, ask for a picture.

Twinkle, Twinkle

i love lights. i love them during the day and I really love them when they become alive. they transform a room by turning ugly spaces into beautiful places. they turn beautiful spaces into memorable  occasions.  with a flick of a switch they transform your surroundings.  they leave you with pride and satisfaction.  some are timeless, others get left behind when you decide to move on. many perform special functions while others decorate the senses. i take pictures of ones that stand out for me  or tickles my fancy. i hope you enjoy them .

Your City/Town by night

we seldom  look at the place we call home in such a way that it seems brand new. i tried looking at my Cape Town in such a way by walking the tiny streets, staying up late, climbing the hills, taking a drive and   getting up early. i loved the experience; the sounds of the city changes as the night rushes to meet the new day, the familiar smells that greet me, the energy that surrounds me and the feeling of the night air on my skin. i hope to add more pictures in the future. Cape Town is changing fast and so is the place you call home.
